Shifeng Longjing (Lion's Peak Dragon Well)
Shifeng, West Lake, Hangzhou, China
From the most prized Longjing terroir—Shifeng produces tea with unmatched chestnut sweetness and jade color.
The Story
Not all Longjing is equal. The tea from Shifeng (Lion's Peak) in the West Lake protected zone is considered the pinnacle, commanding prices many times higher than generic Longjing. The specific microclimate, soil composition, and elevation create a tea with pronounced chestnut sweetness and a clarity absent from other sources. True Shifeng Longjing is extremely limited—most 'Longjing' on the market comes from other regions. Pre-Qingming (before April 5) harvest from Shifeng is among China's most collectible teas.

Brewing Tips
Watch the flat leaves dance and settle in a glass—part of the experience. Don't cover the vessel; Longjing should breathe. The chestnut note is distinctive to quality Longjing; if it's missing, you may not have authentic Shifeng. First steep can be drunk immediately without discarding.
