Margaret's Hope FTGFOP1
Margaret's Hope Estate, Kurseong, Darjeeling
Named after a young girl who loved the estate, this FTGFOP1 delivers quintessential Darjeeling character with a haunting backstory.
The Story
The estate takes its name from Margaret, daughter of an English planter, who fell in love with the tea gardens during a childhood visit and vowed to return. She never did, dying during her voyage back to India. The estate was named in her memory, and perhaps that's why Margaret's Hope tea always carries a certain wistful quality. The FTGFOP1 (Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe 1) grade indicates the highest picking standard—only the bud and two youngest leaves.
